Zagathon Hosts First Annual Gala For the Kids!
Friday, Feb. 23, Zagathon hosted its first annual Gala For the Kids!
From 7-9pm, the Hemmingson Ballroom was transformed into a Runway of Hope. Zags, community members, miracle families, and hospital staff came dressed to the nines. We ate, we took pictures, we laughed, we cried, and we fundraised for the hospital.
One by one, some of our Miracle Kids and families took to the stage to speak about their experience with Sacred Heart and what Zagathon meant to them. They bravely shared their stories and inspired us with their constant positivity.
We closed the night in memory of a Miracle Kid who couldn't be with us that night. Alison Rodriguez was an incredibly special little girl who held a huge piece of our hearts. We first met her when she came and spoke with us last Dance Marathon 2017. Sadly, Alison lost her battle to pediatric cancer last January. One of our Zagathon Exec members, Matthew Bracken, gave a touching tribute to Alison at Gala. We will always carry her and her family in our hearts and we vow to continue her fight.
Between our silent auction and turnout of over 150 people, we raised over $3,500 in one night! We could not have done this without our incredible Zags and Spokane community. We also want to thank our corporate sponsor Loves, for making this happen for us! Check out some awesome Gala pictures below.
Because of you, this night was truly unforgettable. We can't wait to see you in a month for Zagathon! If you haven't already, sign up here!
For the kids,
